Squish & Go Packaging

Following on from their new range of baby purées branded ‘Squish Baby’, it was decided that the original toddler range, Squish, should be refreshed. The name as also changed to ‘Squish & Go’ to promote the on-the-go convenience of the product.

A toddler monkey was developed, and a graphic language of him interacting with the various fruit flavours was applied to the range.

The Foodbarn T-shirt Design

The Foodbarn required a series of T-shirts to be designed. These were to be worn by their staff and could also be purchased from the deli shop. With a very strong identity already in place with their distinctive goose, it was important to retain this key element while creating designs that encapsulated the Foodbarn’s offering.

The design “Golden Egg” uses a typographic illustration of an egg made up of adjectives describing the food, while “Nature’s Best” uses graphic illustrations of food and plants in combination with adjectives describing the food. The t-shirts were printed on Bamboo blend fabric.

Sunshine Nut Company Cashew Nuts

The Sunshine Nut Company is Mozambique-based, exporting locally produced cashews to South Africa and the States. With a strong social investment back into the communities that farm the cashews, a strong brand and packaging identity was needed that appealed retailers and consumers, as well as sharing their philosophy and do-good factor in a direct yet subtle way. The result is a pack that holds the product as hero and an brand that is striking as it is tasty.

Chef’ease Sauces

A refreshing new look was needed for a range of sauces and jams packaged in a unique re-sealable pouch. After reviewing the competing brands, it was decided to go with a clean, white pack with the fresh product ingredients as the hero on the front of pack. Simple typography and clean photography create a range of products that stand out in the mass of product close-ups and overwhelming colour.

Bespoke photography was required on the Tomato Juice packaging to create a unique product shot. Local photographer
Denver Hendricks used his creative eye in post production to create the final shot from a morning of tomato juice splashes and ripe tomatoes.

Old Khaki Cape Union Mart

With the logo already designed, my brief was to develop the look and feel in its application. A slightly distressed texture was applied to the logotype and mountain goat graphic device, and applied onto swing tickets and carry bags.
